Politiko Lang Yan is a monoprint featuring subjects that capture the key personalities who made an impression on Marz during the 2022 Philippine Elections. The artist recalls a variety of poignant imagery that make up the composition of the monoprint.

The faces of disappointment from veteran television journalists.

Benedictines and Daughters of Charity nuns repainting a mural defaced by an opposing political camp.

Presidential hopeful moments that went viral.

Pink, being the dominant color of the campaign, and due to the large crowds the Robredo rally drew, critics compared the drone shots of the rallies, refusing to believe the legitimacy of the images and dismissing them as photoshopped images of a bunch of onions. The artist also campaigned for some senatorial hopefuls that also made it in the final print

Imagery from independent media campaigns, memes, and pieces of pop-culture media that have contributed to the political atmosphere were also included.

The rose icon of Leni Robredo’s campaign was also used as a backdrop for the monoprint.

Memorable scenes from the live broadcast from Leni Robredo receiving gifts from supporters.

The individual stamps came together as a fine art print that was exhibited in “Petite Format“, the annual group show of the Pinoyprintmakers, at Art Lounge Manila. The artist came up with a monoprint using stamps from this collection.
