Marz Today at PlannerCon 2024: Destash to Restash

Marz Today at PlannerCon 2024

As a long-time supporter of PlannerCon, Marz Today participated as a major sponsor for the 2024 edition, Destash to Restash. The event brought together a vibrant community of journaling and planning enthusiasts through workshops, creative booths, and community-driven activities to Whitespace.

For this edition, Marz Today contributed Shachihata Iromoyo Ink Pads and custom stamps, which were made available for use at the stamping station. These materials offered attendees a chance to experiment with layering, inking, and mark-making—processes that align closely with the techniques used in my own printmaking practice.

The Alignment game
The alignment game mirrors a lot of my personal practice but done under a time limit.

One of the highlights of the booth was a game called “Alignment”, which invited groups of three participants to work together to recreate a print using a layered stamp set. The challenge emphasized coordination, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving. While playful in format, the activity reflected some of the basic principles of multi-block printing and ink registration.

These activities were made possible through a collaboration with Artline, the local distributor of Shachihata Iromoyo Ink Pads in the Philippines. The partnership was developed not only to support the event but also to promote the availability of the same inks I regularly use in my print practice. By introducing these tools in a casual, hands-on environment, we aimed to bridge the gap between planning culture and printmaking techniques.

Marz Today’s involvement in PlannerCon reflects an ongoing interest in exploring how print-based tools and materials can be shared across different creative communities. Events like this provide practical avenues to connect with a broader audience, engage directly with materials, and introduce printmaking practices in approachable formats.
