Shachihata’s Iromoyo Inks are gaining popularity among eraser stamp and journaling enthusiasts to the point that Shachihata’s official website is often running out of stock of these inks. Let’s find out what makes these inks so special and if they’re actually worth the price you’re paying for.

Iromoyo is a line of inks by Shachihata, marketed towards users who like to decorate their journals and eraser stamp hobbyist. This is a fast-drying oil-based ink that works wonderfully on a variety of surfaces such as wood and most matte paper stocks. Its ink pad measures 2.4 x 1.5 inches and all 24 colors have ink refills. It is worth noting that Shachihata Inks are formulated to last you a long time and . Plus they store well in spite of our humid Philippine weather where most pigment inkpads typically dry out fast.

This ink is ideal for highly detailed stamps or full-colored impressions. They look a little bit like the purple office inks you typically get in the NBS office supply section however, Shachihata’s formula is much thicker and a bit stickier to stamp surfaces allowing all the details on a stamp to appear on paper. It’s almost like a thinner viscosity of block printing ink.

I thought of getting an entire set of 24 colors because the consistency is a lot like Versafine Clair, which works great with highly detailed stamps. I was somewhat confident that I could invest in an entire set because I found out that it has a dedicated ink refill.
