Marz Today x Print Day in May Activities.

Printmakers in Quezon City, Philippines are invited to join the Print Day in May activities at the Marz Today Studio. I’ll be hosting two mini-print parties on May 6, 2023 (Saturday)

Marz Today x Print Day in May All day breakfast printmaking party

The All-day breakfast printmaking party kicks off in the morning from 9 am to 12 noon. Guest printmakers get to make mini-prints using my Silog (Pinoy breakfast) themed stamps. It’s a casual event and printmakers of any skill level are welcome.

In the afternoon from 2 PM to 5 PM, it’ll be an Open Press Project mini-print party. Printmakers can bring their matrices and have a go at the Open Press Project 3D Printed mini-press.

We plan on concluding the day with an online get-together with all of the printmakers via Zoom hosted by fellow printmaker, Angela Silva of Rolling Paper Press Studio in Bacolod.

About Print Day in May

Print Day in May is a young printmaking tradition started by Robynn Smith in 2007. Today it has grown to be a global printmaking event that is observed every first Saturday of May. Last year’s Print Day in May in the Philippines was a hybrid celebration that concluded with an online exhibition called “Prints Made in May” which was supported by our friends from Cartellino.

Although our work at the Marz Today studio may be small, the love for printmaking is big. Happy Print Day in May!

These two printmaking events take place at the Marz Today Pop-Up Studio which is located at 44 Matimtiman, Teachers Village, Quezon City. The studio has a max capacity of 7 pax per event hence the requirement of booking an appointment. Both events are free of charge but pay-with-purchase (on items for sale at the studio) is appreciated.

You may book an appointment here.

Printmakers are free to join Print Day in May wherever they are in the world. You may participate by simply posting your prints on social media with the hashtag #PrintDayinMay. Prints can be made using any type of printmaking medium about any topic. We encourage printmakers to Register on their website for a chance to win goodies from Print Day in May’s sponsors.
